VTU CERTIFICATE ATTESTATION PROCEDURE.

I have done this attestation last week so I thought of sharing some information, if it is helpful for you all.

Important Documents to remember

Don’t forget to keep a checklist for following documents.
a) ORIGINAL DEGREE CERTIFICATE ( to be attested)
b) PASSPORT / PAN Card(for Signature verification)

d) Passport Size Photo

e) Offer Letter (Hard Copy must carry).

If you don’t have Original then the company need to mail the Offer Letter to the “vtu commissioner office mail id”,  rcbgm-kar@nic.in
f) Election ID Card or Driving License

Take 2 photo copies of all the above documents.

Where is the Office - Regional Commissioner

From Belgaum Bus stand,  Rickshaw charges  RS 20/- to DC office its near Chennamma Circle,  ask DC office to rickshaw people, its in same compound of the Court and other govt offices. Just opposite to the main gate there is a Garden  and you can see a building with old rock stones..No english board there only in Kannada, there is a National flag on the top of the Office.

Reach there by morning 10.30 am, office starts at 10.30 morning. There is a person called Ashok, he is very helpful person and will not accept any bribe and will not allow you to give a peny to any other govt officials.

Please keep in mind dont give any money to anybody...some peons may ask you for money ..dont given them single coin and  they will not be able to help you anyway.

Just meet him take one Application form and fill it up and we should get a signature from Tahasildar there, as soon as you complete this procedure you have to submit original certificate and other photocopies of the above mentioned documents there.

Just opposite to this office there is a SBI Branch , you have to pay Rs 105/- CHALAN there and take DD of Rs 175/- “Finance Officer VTU Belgaum” . Please keep in mind that Rs 175 for one certificate and if more cetificates it will increase accordingly. One more point to be noted that there will be a big Q for chelan payment , (Counter 5). You can fill up DD form and make payment in same counter otherwise you have to go back and stand another Q for DD payment.

Once you have taken the DD, go back to regional commissioner office & submit all documents to the same person again (Ashok),

He will give a receipt, take it to Room no. 5, which is in the same floor. Give it to the lady just near the door of Room no. 5, She will write a receipt no. eg.. 1172.

Your Work is done, Go home and check the http://www.regional-commissioner-belgaum.gov.in/ for your receipt no. Once your receipt number comes, go to belgaum again and collect it by showing the receipt.

Collecting the  Certificate by another person can be done only blood relatives:
You can authorize other person also to collect certificate, get the help of any junior advocates there, they charge you 50 Rs for the same . You get a letter attested by Notary.
